monty african violetMonty's Plant Food will provide a brighter color and larger blooms. Enhanced plant structure that provides for better absorption of light and therefore creates a better more efficient African Violet. The foliage has a thicker appearance and a darker green color.

Monty's Plant Food will help in preventing plant problems such as petiole rot. Using Monty's Plant Food ensures that the plant will not have a salt build-up. This allows continued absorption of needed nutrients. More efficiency in this nutrient up-take will therefore maximize the overall growth and life of your African Violet.

  • Watering: Water frequently enough to keep soil moist. Between watering allow the soil to dry slightly. Too much moisture will cause severe damage. Some growers prefer wick watering.
  • Temperature: The correct temperature is 65 and 70 degrees. Do not allow the temperatures to go above 80 degrees and below 60 degrees.
  • Humidity: Maintain a moderate amount of humidity. If the humidity level is low in your home, place gravel and water in a saucepan under the pot.
  • Fertilization: Constant availability of nutrients is ideal. Dilute Monty's 8-16-8 @ ¼ teaspoon per 1 gallon of water in the watering can or place ½ teaspoon per gallon of water when wick watering.
  • Light: Ensure that your African Violet will receive direct light, but not direct sunlight.
