orchidbkgrndThe cycle in the USA is 3 months dormant (in the dark resting) then grow bloom then recover for a month grow a bloom recover etc. for about 9 months then back to 3 months dormant

We would recommend that orchid growers utilize Monty's Joy Juice in the following rate:

1. Begin using Monty's 8-16-8 at a 1: 2,500 ratio during the first 4 months of the growing season. For ease of calculation you can achieve that ratio, roughly, by using 1/4 teaspoon of Monty's 8-16-8 per gallon of water.

2. During the next two months we suggest that the 8-16-8 and 2-15-15 be mixed 50/50. The rate should be again at a 1: 2,500 ratio. For ease of calculation you can achieve that ratio, roughly, by using 1/8 teaspoon of Monty's 8-16-8 and 1/8 teaspoon of Monty's 2-15-15 per gallon of water.

3. During the flowering period we would recommend the 2-15-15 at a 1: 2,500 ratio or 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water. With most plants we recommend using Monty's fertility products as a foliar spray.  However, the foliage and flowers of orchids are particularly sensitive, even to water.  Becasue of this we suggest using Monty's at the above rates to water your plants directly rather than misting the foliage.  Simply mix the correct Monty's formula for the particular stage of development and apply as needed to adequately water your orchids for optimal results.
